Don't Expect to Find Your "Philadelphia" Church
I agree with this article....It's too easy to act spiritually high and mighty, judging churches. However, when there are SO MANY issues within a church, to the point where you are not growing--or worse--it causes you to stumble in your walk with Christ, don't just complain, abandon it! I recently left a church parish a few months ago, mainly because it was so liberal....
Look for a church where you are fed spiritually, however don't expect to find your "Philadelphia Church", like I admittedly had started doing; although it's possible to find such a church parish, try to help improve on the parish you attend now, if the issues aren't major and many.
The church I attend presently is still very new to me, but I do see myself growing there spiritually. It definitely doesn't make me stumble, like my past church could have.
If time allows, join a group or volunteer at your church to get to know your parish better, and help them in a positive way.
Know the issues of your church parish so you can help be a problem-solver, and not just a problem-judger.

Sacred Writings and Sacred Ways to God
How do we know the Bible is true? The title of this article asks.
Well, because it works! The best way to know the Bible is true is to follow it's teachings and then you know the Truth in it.
But that's not the only sacred writings from God.
I'm not one of those people who believe there is only one sacred book from God. I believe there are other writings from Him too. Proof could be there are books that almost made it in the Bible, but for some reason was decided to be left out. For instance, Protestant Bibles leave some books out. Catholic Bibles have more books than Protestant Bibles (seven) because of the way they define the Old Testament. Catholic Bibles include seven additional books known as the Deuterocanon or Apocrypha, which Protestants do not include in their Old Testament.
I definitely believe there are even more sacred writings that should have been added to the Catholic Bible that is not. This is why I read other faith-based writings and not just the Bible. Writings that are in sync with the Bible.
To believe there is only one book and only one way to God is very cultish. How we all even find our way to God is different! We all have different life stories, so that proves there ARE different ways to God.
I REALLY started finding my way to God via Yoga philosophy! I had accepted Christ in my life decades ago, before I began studying yoga philosophy, but it was more love by way of head knowledge, not heart felt, sincere love for God. It was until listening to a Yoga teacher online that I began to truly seek God in wanting a deep, genuine relationship with Him. This was in 2016. After that, I was truly a new creation, with old things passing away and new ways now in me. I really changed.
And Yoga philosophy was the catalyst for me eventually becoming a Roman Catholic Christian. I still embrace a lot of the Yoga philosophy teachings, because I realize there is not just one way to God. You will know them by their fruits. See the fruits within yourself. And see your relationship with God, and its growth. See if it goes with according to the Bible....This is how you know it's God's Word--and other sacred writings as well.

Who Are You Following on Social Media?
I really don't get this article. I've heard such talk before, and I wonder:
Who are you following on social media??
I only follow faith-based Christians and a few other wholesome handles, like vegan sites. With doing that, I see no porn. On X sometimes I see handles in my feed that I don't follow, but nothing that bad, and then it stops. Plus, if anyone follows me that really offends me, I simply block them.
On EVERY social media, there is very objectionable material not suited for Christians. So going by what the article says above, then one possibly should not be on ANY social media--throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
Just simply be more discerning in who you follow, and stop making it about trying to get so many people to follow you.
Stop focusing on the quantity in numbers of followers you accumulate, and start thinking of the quality of people you follow instead--and with that, you will naturally get more wholesome people following you.

The 7 Churches Written About in Book of Revelation
Many Bible-believing people of faith love reading the entire Bible, and we tend to have favorite quotes, favorite stories, favorite books and favorite times of the Bible.
My favorite times have been from the New Testament, specifically, from the time of Pentecost, to the Revelation. I have been studying quite a bit lately on the Churches during those times. While doing my research, I found these two incredible documentaries above of the 7 Churches, written about the Apostle John in the book of Revelation.
These documentaries are well-done! It's very much worth the watch!
And as you watch these documentaries of the 7 Churches, think about the church parish/congregation that you are a member, and really ponder which of the 7 Churches are like the one you attend....
Is that church really the right one for you?
Do you walk out of your church being really inspired and so excited about serving God even more?
Would your church be a victorious church, that would be praised by God for it's faithfulness and endurance that is spoken about in Revelation?
Food for thought.

On the Job Christian
I seem to be the only one that talks about my faith at work.
I have no problem talking about being Catholic; it just comes naturally, in the way secular people talk about who they are, or what they love in life. So anyone who has spent even a short time around me at work know that I'm Catholic, including my boss and his assistants.
This article talks more on the subject:

"The Giver"
I enjoyed reading this article: Ranking the Spiritual Gifts
#8. That's me! I smiled when I read, "They tithe with joy..." Lol! This past Sunday, while sitting up in the balcony at mass, the basket was being passed around below, but no one came up to the balcony to collect the tithe.
The time was almost over for collecting, and I thought they had skipped upstairs. I had my check ready to give, but I saw them heading for the altar! I almost cried! I wanted to tithe! I was going to run down to the main aisle to give them my money, but then I saw others walking downstairs. I followed, and by the foot of the stairs, there was this girl patiently waiting for anyone up in the balcony to come with their tithe....God bless her! I felt joy in my heart and without even thinking about it, thanked her for allowing me to give my 10%.
I'm also a #3, but tend not to say anything at all.

Biblical Fashion
So, my fashion style is boho chic, but I have been seriously thinking about Biblical fashion! The clothing worn from Biblical days look really nice. It's not always like wearing a sheet, but some can been pretty fashionable, similar to the one above, that I saw at Amazon.
Unfortunately, it's VERY hard to find such clothing, but with Bible stories on TV and in films being so "trendy" these days--who knows? Maybe the clothing style will accompany that trend.

Healthy Boundaries
The article below is interesting. I've always thought most people look at boundaries as protecting oneself and not punishing others. That's why it's sometimes called, "healthy boundaries".
I had to place several healthy boundaries in the past few months--especially at work. As a matter of fact, on my bedroom white board, I have written on top, "Keep Work Boundaries!
At my place of work, it's common for store managers to give their employees false hope regarding promotions and department placements. I was one such employee of having false hope for 2 1/2 years! The interesting thing was, when the promotion/department placement was open that I REALLY wanted, I felt this odd, dark, melancholy inside me, although I was still happy about it, I kept wondering, how come I don't feel as happy as I should be?
I believe it was the Holy Spirit warning me about the position. I ignored the warning and applied.
I had waited 2 1/2 years for an interview that lasted less than 2 minutes! I was rudely, insultingly turned down (others were treated the same too, during their interview). I realized there were five people in on this giving me false hope....Afterward, for weeks, I was emotionally confused and angry. If anything, I was over-qualified, but they instead gave me nonsensical reasons not to hire me for the position--as they did other applicants; they were coming up with all sorts of excuses to turn us down. But I soon discovered I had dodged a bullet; the department managers are very toxic, and it was best that I stay out of it.
This is when I decided I need to set healthy boundaries for myself so not to let that happen again. I liked the five as fellow workers in the company and would talk to them besides work, like what I'm doing in my personal life, small talk, etc. Now I keep it strictly professional and ONLY discuss work with them, to help keep my heart safe. In this way, whatever they do, it's not emotionally hurtful, because I cut off the friendly attachment and keep things just professional. Plus, I have decided to do other things there...again as healthy boundaries. So not to "punish" them, but to keep my well-being intact.
Oh!--and one more thing: I listen to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and obey Him A LOT better now!
For more information on healthy boundaries, read the article: Healthy Boundaries

Biblical Justice
Unfortunately, it seems like every important issue is politicized; even murder, when an unborn child is killed during abortion.
Some people shy away from "political" issues, but being involved in justice is a part of being a doer of the Word and not just a hearer.
In the article below, I especially love their 4th point: "Biblical justice isn't narrow--it's comprehensive." It mentions Proverbs 31:8-9: "a call to righteousness and advocacy for the vulnerable. It instructs leaders to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, particularly the poor and needy, and to judge fairly, defending their rights." (New Century Version (NCV))
This is why I'm a huge advocate for the rights of the unborn child and animals. They can't speak up for themselves. They are vulnerable. They need to be defended.
What Does the Bible Really Say About Justice?

The Bible Isn't a Novel
The Bible is made to put into practice, not to be just read, like reading a novel.
In the article below, it said, "When you read God's Word but don't apply it...The foundation of your life may crumble." Then it went on to say, "That's not a threat--it's a diagnosis".
Well, it should be meant as a threat. You WILL crumble, to a certain degree, if you don't apply God's Word. It's filled with basic common sense--and more!
It's important to advance spiritually, and not just stay babies, as mentioned in one of my past blogposts.

A Safer, Healthier, Humane Way to Get Protein
I just don't get people's obsession with eggs. Clearly eggs are not only unhealthy for you, it's also killing millions of birds every year needlessly. There is a much safer, healthier and humane way to get protein, vitamins and minerals, while saving millions of God's innocent, sentient animals.
Plus, eggs are constantly being taken off the shelves due to bird flu. Do you really want to take a chance of getting sick, when it's so not necessary to take that risk?

Self-Help is Slavery
I totally agree with the article below. Most of this self-help talk in books and speeches are about leaving God out of your life, and that's why it's not working.
People are just delusional if they think they can solve any issue perfectly without God.
We, as humans, are imperfect; limited in what we can do. That limitation is a form of bondage--slavery. But with God, ALL things are possible (Matthew 19:26). That's the REAL freedom--with Him.

How to Buy Without Fear of Tariffs---or Anything Else
You should not fear the news about tariffs, as long as you buy the things God wants you to buy.
In your faith, buy with intention, buy with purpose, in the way God wants you to buy according to what's best for you. Have a healthy attitude about money, and be generous with it. You know this by way of reading the Bible and praying about it.
In short, by having a good relationship with God. Know your Father and want what He wants for you. Wanting what He wants to give you will come naturally as you grow in your faith.
I am not financially rich, however, I have always got what I wanted. I have never had to "save up" to buy anything in my life. I just bought it when I needed or wanted it, because I bought with a sense of intention, and not of greed.
I also don't LOVE money, but nor do I hate it. I look at money as simply a piece of material to buy something. I'm neutral toward money.
I tithe. I love tithing and can't wait to give my 10% offering! Whether it's giving online (if I can't make it to mass), or giving at the church, I give every week with wholehearted gladness and devotion to God.
I give in other ways too, by donating to Godly ministries, and other faith-based, charitable organizations.
All these things I have been doing and I don't care if it's tariffs, inflation, recession, depression, oppression, I have always had enough money for my needs--and wants, as long as I want what God wants for me.

How Serious Devout Christians "Date"
In one of the latest Relevant articles, Where Have All the Decent Christian Guys (and Women) Gone?, near the end of the article, they say: "Stop treating every date like a marriage interview."
Oh yes! Every date should be treated like a marriage interview, because Christians date with intention, with purpose.
Christians don't date just to fool around. The whole point of dating--from a Christian's perspective--is to get married. Worldly people are the ones who sometimes date with no intention...well usually the "intention" to have sex without marriage commitment.
So, yes, date as if this is a person who may be the one you spend the rest of your life with in marriage. This type of dating should take a couple dates to notice the potential of marriage; listen to the Holy Spirit for direction, and tell each other your story to get to know each other quicker so to decide whether or not you both are compatible). And with dating, comes lots of prayer to find the right person.
God will help you find someone if and when you are ready for marriage. The engagement could be long (not too long), but at least there is now a commitment of marriage.

I Answer the Most Googled Faith Questions!
My Answers to Most Googled Faith Questions
Which I answer here:
1. Is there a God?
Yes. There has to be something that has always existed, and that is God, who then created everything else. For example, try to eliminate everything that exists. It's impossible. There will always be SOME THING. Take away everything, there is, what? Darkness? Or just whiteness? Those are some thing. There's even some thing that occupies "emptiness". Things scientifically that can't be seen. There is no such thing as "nothing". So it's not difficult to imagine there has always been a being here, that never had a beginning...the Creator, who gave everything else a beginning.
2. Why does God allow suffering?
There are many reasons. One is free will for all, so people have the free will to be cruel to others, but in the end, justice always prevails, in this life or on Judgement Day. Also, God sometimes allows us to suffer to teach us lessons in life, or to make us stronger in faith, or to make us rely on Him when we get too proud and believe we don't need God.
For other examples, read the story of Job in the Bible, also remember the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:6-10, when he mentioned an affliction in his body, and he asked God 3 times to heal him, but God never did. Here are the verses:
"6 For though I should have a mind to glory, I shall not be foolish; for I will say the truth. But I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth in me, or any thing he heareth from me. 7 And lest the greatness of the revelations should exalt me, there was given me a sting of my flesh, an angel of Satan, to buffet me. 8 For which thing thrice I besought the Lord, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said to me: My grace is sufficient for thee; for power is made perfect in infirmity. Gladly therefore will I glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may dwell in me. 10 For which cause I please myself in my infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ. For when I am weak, then am I powerful." ~ Douay Rheims Bible
Now, why do innocent babies suffer is a tough one, and I don't really know the answer. But I must say, this would be a strong case for reincarnation, as the answer would be the baby's past life was someone who rejected God and was cruel to others...so after they died, they came back having to suffer, sometimes very, very early in their life. But who knows? I have read theories from Catholic greats, but I have never been satisfied with the answers.
3. Is the Bible reliable?
Yes, and so are other sacred writings. If you notice, in the major religions, there are many common themes, similar to each one, life instructions which validates reliability in these writings, which includes the Bible. Although, in Revelation, Apostle John DID warn those who may add or subtract from the Bible, the consequences that would come if one did that, so alluding to the possibility of errors in the Bible. It's in John 22;18-19, and it says:
"18 For I testify to every one that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book: If any man shall add to these things, God shall add unto him the plagues written in this book. 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from these things that are written in this book." ~ Douay Rheims bible
However, there needs to be some kind of instruction for us to live. I seriously doubt if the Creator simply plopped us on this planet to figure out how to be good, kind, civil to each other all on our own. Why isn't there helter-skelter everywhere, where you can't go to sleep because people are breaking into homes everywhere stealing, killing, etc. others? We have free will, so why not everyone just take from others. Why be good? It's the sacred writings, like the Bible, that is instilled in us as well as showing good morals, ethics...a conscience...to do good.
4. Is Jesus really God?
Yes. First, there are a lot of science backing up that there was a man named Jesus on earth. And we have the sacred writings of the Bible backing up who this man named Jesus was, and how the story of Jesus parallels with ancient to modern history to current events. Mind you, God can come to this earth in many forms, and possibly not only Jesus. God can do ANYTHING. There have been many who have witnessed seeing mysterious persons throughout history, and even to the present, persons who have helped them, then disappear. Yes, they could be angels, but maybe God too, as flesh in different forms. I believe God goes beyond the Bible, and can enter out lives in the flesh at all sorts of times to help us to believe in Him and keep the faith, but mainly, normally as the Holy Spirit that dwells in us.
5. Can I know God personally?
Yes. And that comes by way of reading sacred writings, like the Bible, prayer, simply being open to believing in a Supreme Being, God, and talking to Him. God normally doesn't audibly talk back to us, but responds via the impressions we get inside us, signs in the world, experiences that happens to us. The more you get to know God, the more you change to becoming a better, more productive person in life, and wanting to give God all the glory and praise for your good works in actions.
6. Is Christianity too narrow?
Absolutely not. If anything, Christians have the most freedom, because we are not in the slave bandage of sin....And as far as other devoutly religious faiths go, I personally don't believe there is "only one way", in the sense of worshipping different gods, because there is only one God, regardless of what one wants to call Him.
7. What does the Bible say about homosexuality?
This is what most Christians don't understand. Of course, the Bible talks against homosexuality, but for the SAME REASON heterosexual couples should not be engaging in recreational sex. It's wrong! Sex is for procreation ONLY. It's not for playing around, fun and games, recreation.
The reason why sex feels good is because that way, people would be more likely to reproduce to populate the world, as God said to do in the Bible.
Some people say having sex is to show love for your spouse.
Sex is not love.
It's simply an action to procreate to populate the earth.
If everyone adhered to this, contraceptives would not exist, because the birth control would be abstinence, so there would be far less unwanted children--including with married couples.
There are SO MANY activities one can enjoy doing without sex being involved. It's the secular world that keeps making sex into something to be obsessed over. When people, gays or straight, indulge in recreational sex, it makes people want to have more of it, to addiction. Also, it can make people curious about what it would be like to have sex with someone else, perhaps to compare, or for variety.
If a couple, man and woman, just have sex to have children, the odds are they will not become obsessed with sex, and having problems like one wanting sex more than the other.
Actually, thinking of sex a lot is a form of idolatry...Yes, you can idolize sex!
Also, science prove this is right! There is a reason why after childbirth age, a woman's body changes to where sex becomes painful....Men and women buying all these sex performance products when they get older...The reason you would "need" those things is because your body isn't supposed to be engaging in sex beyond having the ability to have children! It's your body telling you NO.
So, the issue goes beyond homosexuals having sex. Yes, the Bible says it's an abomination, but so is recreational sex for heterosexuals as well.
The Bible in 1 Corinthians 10:31 says:
"Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatsoever else you do, do all to the glory of God."Having sex to procreate is not only giving glory to God, but also obeying God's instruction to multiply and populate the world. But recreational sex without wanting to have children is just hedonistic, selfishness without giving any glory to God.
Sex beyond procreation violates the God-inscribed unbreakable bond between the love-giving and life-giving aspects of our relationship with God, because instead of the intimate and mutual self-giving that is the hallmark of our relationship with God, having lustful sex outside of wanting to procreate is an act in which each couple turns selfishly inward thinking of only satisfying each other, leaving God out.
Sex outside of procreation is a a dualistic, self-indulgent act of two people leaving-God-out activity that uses each others body as a means of selfish mutual gratification, instead of integrating, as a spiritual team power couple, a power of love and life of together giving glory to God!
When couples have sex just for the sake of pleasuring each other, they fail to see that our bodies do not belong to us, but belongs to God and we express our bodies only in activities that glorify and worship God only.
Sex within a marriage is only just when it is integrated with God's divine purpose in being fruitful and multiplying the earth. This is only possible in procreation.
Also, I want to add, for Catholics, there is this frustration where although having recreational sex within the marriage is OK, the couple may get to the point where they don't want any more children, but according to the Catholic tenets, we are not to use contraceptives, so the only thing to do is the rhythm method, and we all know how statistical reliable that is! Hahaha! So there is this problem. However, if the couple only have sex for pro-creation, there is no problem! Because there would be no recreational sex, therefore no issue with the possibility of having children because the couple would be now living a celibate life.
8. Does life have purpose?
Life certainly does! We all have a purpose.
What's the meaning of life?
It's simple: to get as close of a relationship to God as you can, which in one main way is fulfilling one's purpose. Because our purpose isn't just about us. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says in everything give glory to God, so everyone's purpose must be used to give glory to our Creator, God.
One possible way to know one's purpose is something that you have been interested in, or good at since you were a child. Or maybe a pattern of common experiences God has led you to, could be a hint to your purpose in life. A "calling"--a strong urge to want to do something really positive.
Whatever it is, if it's not obvious, like to enter the religious life, look at how to give glory to God as you do your purpose, because that's who it's for...It's ALWAYS all about God.
