"....But Don't Stay Alone Forever" MUCH Easier Said Than Done!

"BUT DON"T STAY ALONE FOREVER", starts near the beginning of this Relevant article.

I hear this a lot, and while they mean well, I find it quite presumptuous that it's assumed a person can easy-peasy join and be accepted into any group or community they want--with open arms!

UH, NOT SO.

I find it extremely difficult to find real community, a group, a tribe, a team, of fellow spiritual kindred spirits on this planet. I either get rejected by being ignored (someone once said, when you find great inspiring holy people, unfortunately, they are too busy to spend any time with you--so true!), or I witness a lot of sacrilegious and blasphemous people within the group that I leave that darkness.

The bible states in Matthew 7:13-14: Jesus says, "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."

Proof that it's SO HARD to find those few who are truly righteous.

By the way, I will be blog posting a series next week from a "guest speaker" on how to really notice those righteous few. The litmus test to make sure you are really in a group of people where you can grow spiritually in your walk with God. The type of people to truly inspire you to get closer to Him. The genuinely Holy Spirit-filled.

And my search is still on to find such a group. The group won't be found as a whole in ANY church parish. A church house is possibly the answer...but I am planning on joining a Christian Catholic bible and book group at my parish starting up in October, so who knows? Maybe this will be the one.

Stay tuned....

Dressing to "Reflect the Kingdom"

In response to Relevant's "The Modesty Conversation" article, I will use Google AI to inform people who have no idea (like author article Joel) what modest and immodest dress for women looks like.

Modest tends to be dressing pretty. Immodest tends to be dressing "sexy". Here are the details:

From Google AI:

Dressing "pretty" generally emphasizes softness, charm, and often a more modest or romantic aesthetic, while dressing "sexy" focuses on highlighting alluring features and evoking a sense of sensuality, which may or may not involve revealing clothing. The key difference lies in the intended message and the specific elements emphasized: "pretty" often uses flowing fabrics, softer colors, and a focus on overall elegance, whereas "sexy" might utilize more form-fitting clothes, strategic skin exposure, or fabrics that emphasize curves or a specific body part.

Dressing Pretty:
Focus:
Softness, charm, grace, and sometimes a romantic or delicate vibe.

Elements:
Often incorporates lighter fabrics, pastel colors, and a focus on an overall feminine aesthetic.

Emphasis:
Can be on elegant silhouettes, charming details, or a universally appealing beauty.

Purpose:
To look beautiful and attractive without necessarily aiming to provoke a sexual response.

Dressing Sexy:
Focus:
Allure, sensuality, and highlighting attractive features.

Elements:
Can involve form-fitting garments, strategic exposure of skin (e.g., backless dresses, high slits, décolletage), or materials that emphasize the body's shape.

Emphasis:
Often on drawing attention to specific body parts, creating a confident and bold impression.

Purpose:
To feel confident and sensual, potentially to attract a specific kind of attention.

Climate Change and a Change in How We Treat Animals

One of Relevant's articles asks: Why Don't More Christians Care About Climate Change?

Well, that's a good question, but it's not just about climate change more Christians should care about. Christians should also care about animals.

Jesus constantly spoke about love and caring for others--and this includes all God's creations, which includes animals of course. We should love them--not eat them and using animals in selfish ways.

Oh, I know people will say, "Jesus condoned eating fish..." I have my own theory about this, but also like many passages in the Bible, we don't always know the reasons why it was mentioned. Plus, think about it: Jesus was a loving, compassionate person toward the vulnerable; this is constantly, consistantly mentioned throughout the gospels! For Jesus to mention eating fish in just a few passages is very contradictory to his MANY other teachings AND His personality.

It's wise to go by Jesus' overall teachings of not harming others and respecting God's creations than to focus on a few instances contrary to His teachings and His nature.

There is a reason as to why fish was eaten in those few instances, but as I said, we don't understand every thing written in the Bible.

Also, eating animal products does effect our environment and our health.

How Serious Devout Christians "Date"

In one of the latest Relevant articles, Where Have All the Decent Christian Guys (and Women) Gone?, near the end of the article, they say: "Stop treating every date like a marriage interview."

Oh yes! Every date should be treated like a marriage interview,  because Christians date with intention, with purpose.

Christians don't date just to fool around. The whole point of dating--from a Christian's perspective--is to get married. Worldly people are the ones who sometimes date with no intention...well usually the "intention" to have sex without marriage commitment.

So, yes, date as if this is a person who may be the one you spend the rest of your life with in marriage. This type of dating should take a couple dates to notice the potential of marriage; listen to the Holy Spirit for direction, and tell each other your story to get to know each other quicker so to decide whether or not you both are compatible). And with dating, comes lots of prayer to find the right person.

God will help you find someone if and when you are ready for marriage. The engagement could be long (not too long), but at least there is now a commitment of marriage.
