Your Brain IS Built for Much Information, but....

I agree for the most part with this article, Your Brain Isn't Built for this Much Information. But it's what kind of information that our brain isn't meant for.

Our brain is capable of taking in a ton of information!, if it's godly. The Holy Spirit helps us to retain information that glorifies God. For instance, there are MANY passages of scripture that I had not read for many, many years, before I started back reading the bible regularly, and I am surprised--shocked even--that I still remember so much, so long ago!

It's the garbage that our brains can't handle--and we should not let it in!

For example, it's best to have only one social media to look at. Pick one. Your most favorite and delete the rest. And that one, keep the amount of who you follow under 100. Choose the people who gives you the most valuable information in life. Only people that inspire you in a positive way.

As a Christian, I highly recommend, as I do, only watch films, TV shows, play games that are wholesome and godly. I have been doing this for several weeks now; only watching faith-based films and shows, and even faith-based news, like EWTN News, and my mind feels so much cleaner and purer! My recent past memories, when I think back to films and shows are only about God! It makes my soul very happy knowing I have no memories of secular garbage in the past few weeks.

It's all about knowledge in glorifying God.

This is the information the brain needs. What the brain can hold on to.

No Excuses

I want to mention a very common excuse Christians use in order to not be a true disciple and spread the Word.

Christians tend to do two extremes:

1. We don't mention God at all, and no one (or very few), outside of fellow Christians, don't know we are Christian.

2. We are overbearing, shoving Jesus down people's throats.

I think most Christians fear doing #2 so much, they cower under #1, as an excuse not to talk about faith at all.

But there should be no excuses. Actually, talking about your faith life should be no different than when people talk about their life interests, and passions.

For instance, at work it's quite common for co-workers or bosses to ask you after the weekend, or a vacation, "How was it?" "What did you do?" Instead of saying something that doesn't really have to do with faith, tell them what you did that is faith-based that you did, like for example, "I started a Bible study." Or, "I discovered a great way to pray throughout the day". Or "I started going to a new church." Say it with enthusiasm! It's perfectly OK to say that. You are not "preaching" to them, but simply answering their question (if they don't like the answer, they won't ask you again).

This way, you are not being silent about God, and you are not being pushy about God. You are just giving witness in how you live your life.

Everyone in your life--work, social activities, etc.--should know you are a Christian. That alone is witness, but don't be scared in going beyond that by taking the next step:

If someone asks what you did, or what you are going to do, mention your faith life.

Here are some additional things about discipleship:

Here I Am --Send Me!

"Here I am. Send me!" is what us faith-based believers should be saying to any call we get from our Lord when it comes to telling others about EVERYONE'S God. It's a strong expression of being ready to serve God. A willingness to accept a mission or task, even if it's difficult or unclear at that moment, and even if it means surrendering one's own plans, but trusting a higher purpose or calling from God.

God has been calling me recently to speak out more about Him. I talk about God at work; all my leadership knows I'm Christian, and this is the reason why I have this blog...to talk about the Word to others.

And as I listen for any other calling from God to do His Will, His tasks, I will continue to say, "Here I am, Lord. Send me!"

Most Likely, You Are Reading the Bible More Than You Realize!

This is an interesting question.

Yes, you should read the Bible every day, however, it doesn't have to be formally, literally read every day.

If one lives their life focused on God and his Word, you will naturally read the Bible every day in some way, shape, or form. For instance:

You could be reading a faith-based app where it will mention somewhere scripture verse(s).

There could be scripture verse(s) on your wall, T-shirts you own, or any type of evangelizing item in your home that you see every day.

Most faith-based websites will quote at least one scripture from the Bible that you will read. You should be following a lot of Christians on social media where you will always see scripture verses in your feed daily.

Even many faith-based films and music quote scripture, so you are hearing the Word.

So there are lots of ways to "read" the Bible, besides sitting down and reading from it; that is the best way though, but it's wonderful to know that at the end of the day, if you have not actually sat down and read the Bible directly, you did read or hear the Word somewhere today!

Sacred Writings and Sacred Ways to God

How do we know the Bible is true? The title of this article asks.

Well, because it works! The best way to know the Bible is true is to follow it's teachings and then you know the Truth in it.

But that's not the only sacred writings from God.

I'm not one of those people who believe there is only one sacred book from God. I believe there are other writings from Him too. Proof could be there are books that almost made it in the Bible, but for some reason was decided to be left out. For instance, Protestant Bibles leave some books out. Catholic Bibles have more books than Protestant Bibles (seven) because of the way they define the Old Testament. Catholic Bibles include seven additional books known as the Deuterocanon or Apocrypha, which Protestants do not include in their Old Testament.

I definitely believe there are even more sacred writings that should have been added to the Catholic Bible that is not. This is why I read other faith-based writings and not just the Bible. Writings that are in sync with the Bible.

To believe there is only one book and only one way to God is very cultish. How we all even find our way to God is different! We all have different life stories, so that proves there ARE different ways to God.

I REALLY started finding my way to God via Yoga philosophy! I had accepted Christ in my life decades ago, before I began studying yoga philosophy, but it was more love by way of head knowledge, not heart felt, sincere love for God. It was until listening to a Yoga teacher online that I began to truly seek God in wanting a deep, genuine relationship with Him. This was in 2016. After that, I was truly a new creation, with old things passing away and new ways now in me. I really changed.

And Yoga philosophy was the catalyst for me eventually becoming a Roman Catholic Christian. I still embrace a lot of the Yoga philosophy teachings, because I realize there is not just one way to God. You will know them by their fruits. See the fruits within yourself. And see your relationship with God, and its growth. See if it goes with according to the Bible....This is how you know it's God's Word--and other sacred writings as well.

How to Buy Without Fear of Tariffs---or Anything Else

You should not fear the news about tariffs, as long as you buy the things God wants you to buy.

In your faith, buy with intention, buy with purpose, in the way God wants you to buy according to what's best for you. Have a healthy attitude about money, and be generous with it. You know this by way of reading the Bible and praying about it.

In short, by having a good relationship with God. Know your Father and want what He wants for you. Wanting what He wants to give you will come naturally as you grow in your faith.

I am not financially rich, however, I have always got what I wanted. I have never had to "save up" to buy anything in my life. I just bought it when I needed or wanted it, because I bought with a sense of intention, and not of greed.

I also don't LOVE money, but nor do I hate it. I look at money as simply a piece of material to buy something. I'm neutral toward money.

I tithe. I love tithing and can't wait to give my 10% offering! Whether it's giving online (if I can't make it to mass), or giving at the church, I give every week with wholehearted gladness and devotion to God.

I give in other ways too, by donating to Godly ministries, and other faith-based, charitable organizations.

All these things I have been doing and I don't care if it's tariffs, inflation, recession, depression, oppression, I have always had enough money for my needs--and wants, as long as I want what God wants for me.

You Know Scripture, But Are You REALLY Growing in Christ?

To answer my title of this blog post, I would say no when I became a Born-Again Christian decades ago. I was a "good person", and as the article mentions below; I knew scripture very well, but looking back, I was not growing in Christ.

I don't care how good a person is, there is a difference when you accept Christ in your heart and not just in your mind. I was book smart, but not heart smart. But in 2016, while watching a very inspiring spiritual message on Youtube, that's when the Holy Spirit really changed me! I had this real, emotional experience, cried and then the days moving forward I could see a change in me, and now that I'm Catholic, whatever I do, I want to do ALL for the glory of God.

Examples of change in my life: I've gone beyond good--enjoying entertainment that is just good and wholesome. For me now, it has to have something in it to do with Christ. I even have an authentic WWJD game! With other games, like Scrabble, I prefer (and to make it more challenging) only using words from the Bible. Even though wholesome films and music are nice, I only seek out faith-based films and music (unless it's classical). There are plenty of good quality, faith-based films and music on the market, so I'm not feeling deprived of my enjoyment.

I'm not forcing myself to do these things. I want to do it. I didn't feel that way decades ago, because I wasn't changing.

So no matter how good a person you are, when you genuinely, truly receive Christ, allowing God to take control of you, you will see yourself becoming more than just good, but like Jesus.
