A New Beginning

Yesterday, I left social media for good. The last one being X.

On X, I reported racism, but X ignored it, saying it's not against policy. That was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back for me to leave for good.

But the main reason I left was because of the constant ads and postings from others (by the purple icon) that I don't like, much less care to read what they have to say....Then I thought:

Would Jesus be on a site that allows/promotes worldly adult themes, and racist talk?

NO.

So now, I know it's hard to advertise more since I won't be sharing my blog on social media anymore, but that's fine. I know, by God's help, my readers will find me.

In the meantime, I plan on posting more here, adding more photos, and possibly my own videos (I'm getting the brand new Samsung Z Flip 7 phone tomorrow--woo-hoo!). And instead of just posting topics in essay form, I plan on also posting about my day-to-day personal life experiences, as it relates to my walk with God.

This should be a lot of fun, with a lot of thoughtfulness mixed in.

Thank you all who have been reading my blogposts for a long time. I really appreciate it and I hope it has inspired you in having a closer relationship with God.

Love & Peace,

Lorraine

Your Brain IS Built for Much Information, but....

I agree for the most part with this article, Your Brain Isn't Built for this Much Information. But it's what kind of information that our brain isn't meant for.

Our brain is capable of taking in a ton of information!, if it's godly. The Holy Spirit helps us to retain information that glorifies God. For instance, there are MANY passages of scripture that I had not read for many, many years, before I started back reading the bible regularly, and I am surprised--shocked even--that I still remember so much, so long ago!

It's the garbage that our brains can't handle--and we should not let it in!

For example, it's best to have only one social media to look at. Pick one. Your most favorite and delete the rest. And that one, keep the amount of who you follow under 100. Choose the people who gives you the most valuable information in life. Only people that inspire you in a positive way.

As a Christian, I highly recommend, as I do, only watch films, TV shows, play games that are wholesome and godly. I have been doing this for several weeks now; only watching faith-based films and shows, and even faith-based news, like EWTN News, and my mind feels so much cleaner and purer! My recent past memories, when I think back to films and shows are only about God! It makes my soul very happy knowing I have no memories of secular garbage in the past few weeks.

It's all about knowledge in glorifying God.

This is the information the brain needs. What the brain can hold on to.

Most Likely, You Are Reading the Bible More Than You Realize!

This is an interesting question.

Yes, you should read the Bible every day, however, it doesn't have to be formally, literally read every day.

If one lives their life focused on God and his Word, you will naturally read the Bible every day in some way, shape, or form. For instance:

You could be reading a faith-based app where it will mention somewhere scripture verse(s).

There could be scripture verse(s) on your wall, T-shirts you own, or any type of evangelizing item in your home that you see every day.

Most faith-based websites will quote at least one scripture from the Bible that you will read. You should be following a lot of Christians on social media where you will always see scripture verses in your feed daily.

Even many faith-based films and music quote scripture, so you are hearing the Word.

So there are lots of ways to "read" the Bible, besides sitting down and reading from it; that is the best way though, but it's wonderful to know that at the end of the day, if you have not actually sat down and read the Bible directly, you did read or hear the Word somewhere today!

Who Are You Following on Social Media?

I really don't get this article. I've heard such talk before, and I wonder:

Who are you following on social media??

I only follow faith-based Christians and a few other wholesome handles, like vegan sites. With doing that, I see no porn. On X sometimes I see handles in my feed that I don't follow, but nothing that bad, and then it stops. Plus, if anyone follows me that really offends me, I simply block them.

On EVERY social media, there is very objectionable material not suited for Christians. So going by what the article says above, then one possibly should not be on ANY social media--throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Just simply be more discerning in who you follow, and stop making it about trying to get so many people to follow you.

Stop focusing on the quantity in numbers of followers you accumulate, and start thinking of the quality of people you follow instead--and with that, you will naturally get more wholesome people following you.

F.A.A.R.M.'s First Year Anniversary!

Today is the first year anniversary of my animal rights blog, Faith and Animal Reverence Ministry.

I'm very proud of this blog and how far it has come in development. Although I don't get many comments directly on the blog, I do get tons via my email box and there's many more people who don't contact me, but are faithful readers.

To you all:

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I would not be doing this blog if it weren't for all of you emailing me and reading my blog. Of course, F.A.A.R.M. goes beyond this blog, and reaches many others via social media networks, educating people on the streets, and helping people to pay for education and/or treatment for their companion animals. So, again, thanks so much for the financial and readership support!

Last, I like to mention above, I just got this bracelet from Cafe Press yesterday. I will wear it every time I go out, to help bring awareness to Veganism, and to educate others about Animal Rights. I deliberately wanted to get something bold and beautiful to stand out as I want people to know I'm vegan before they even meet me! That's one way to be "loud" without being verbal. ;-)
