Cohabitating

Well, if both were adamant about sex being for procreation only, Christian couples living together before marriage would be so much easier

Plus, it's also about habits; people let their guard down when they live together. Example: Can a person honestly live with someone who has this staunch very filthy habit of _______? As the person didn't know about it when just dating. Not living together, you tend to just see mostly other's best side only; a person can't keep that up 24/7 when living together. Eventually, the worst comes out. If you can live with that person being that way for the rest of your life--FINE! But now you know about it before marriage. If not, maybe time to have a talk, and possibly each make different (separate) plans for their future....

Also, what I want to emphasis what is said in this article "No, cohabitation isn't automatically sinful."

Right.

But I totally agree living together before marriage is a bad idea, IF either one isn't very strong in faith, doesn't really fear God (I mean in the honoring, worshipful way) and doesn't make 1 Corinthians their life mantra: "Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all for the glory of God", then yes--DON'T COHABITATE.

Also, there are many married couples who don't have sex, but live like roommates. Even sleeping in the same bed, but don't have sex (not that I would encourage this--I would not...too inappropriate before marriage, in my opinion), and I'm not just talking about Christians; non-Christian married couples not having sex exist, too.

So not all of us are weak in that area.

Sex isn't about love...

It's about the act of procreating, period.

Here I Am --Send Me!

"Here I am. Send me!" is what us faith-based believers should be saying to any call we get from our Lord when it comes to telling others about EVERYONE'S God. It's a strong expression of being ready to serve God. A willingness to accept a mission or task, even if it's difficult or unclear at that moment, and even if it means surrendering one's own plans, but trusting a higher purpose or calling from God.

God has been calling me recently to speak out more about Him. I talk about God at work; all my leadership knows I'm Christian, and this is the reason why I have this blog...to talk about the Word to others.

And as I listen for any other calling from God to do His Will, His tasks, I will continue to say, "Here I am, Lord. Send me!"

Unequally Yoked

I'm thinking, as I read the title of the link below: 'Ya' think?'

A New Study Finds God-Centered Relationships Are Stronger and Last Longer

2 Corinthians 6:14 says: "Do not become unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"

It means a believer should not enter into partnerships or relationships (including marriage) with those who do not share their faith, as doing so can lead to conflict and compromise.

The term "unequally yoked" is a reference to a farmer's practice of using a yoke to connect animals, such as oxen, when plowing. If the animals are not matched in size and strength, the yoke will not be effective, and the animals will pull in different directions.

Similarly, in relationships, differing spiritual beliefs can create friction and hinder progress.

Who or What Do You Think of Most Every Day?

This article, How Worship Shapes Who You Are is really good!

I have heard it said, whoever or whatever you think about most in your day-to-day life, is who you worship. This is so true.

And as the article says, worshipping God is not just on Sundays, but every day, throughout the day in your life. There are so many things in life that reminds me of God every day, because I'm always thinking of Him every day. He's my God and my Best Friend.

Most Likely, You Are Reading the Bible More Than You Realize!

This is an interesting question.

Yes, you should read the Bible every day, however, it doesn't have to be formally, literally read every day.

If one lives their life focused on God and his Word, you will naturally read the Bible every day in some way, shape, or form. For instance:

You could be reading a faith-based app where it will mention somewhere scripture verse(s).

There could be scripture verse(s) on your wall, T-shirts you own, or any type of evangelizing item in your home that you see every day.

Most faith-based websites will quote at least one scripture from the Bible that you will read. You should be following a lot of Christians on social media where you will always see scripture verses in your feed daily.

Even many faith-based films and music quote scripture, so you are hearing the Word.

So there are lots of ways to "read" the Bible, besides sitting down and reading from it; that is the best way though, but it's wonderful to know that at the end of the day, if you have not actually sat down and read the Bible directly, you did read or hear the Word somewhere today!

Don't Expect to Find Your "Philadelphia" Church

I agree with this article....It's too easy to act spiritually high and mighty, judging churches. However, when there are SO MANY issues within a church, to the point where you are not growing--or worse--it causes you to stumble in your walk with Christ, don't just complain, abandon it! I recently left a church parish a few months ago, mainly because it was so liberal....

Look for a church where you are fed spiritually, however don't expect to find your "Philadelphia Church", like I admittedly had started doing; although it's possible to find such a church parish, try to help improve on the parish you attend now, if the issues aren't major and many.

The church I attend presently is still very new to me, but I do see myself growing there spiritually. It definitely doesn't make me stumble, like my past church could have.

If time allows, join a group or volunteer at your church to get to know your parish better, and help them in a positive way.

Know the issues of your church parish so you can help be a problem-solver, and not just a problem-judger.

Sacred Writings and Sacred Ways to God

How do we know the Bible is true? The title of this article asks.

Well, because it works! The best way to know the Bible is true is to follow it's teachings and then you know the Truth in it.

But that's not the only sacred writings from God.

I'm not one of those people who believe there is only one sacred book from God. I believe there are other writings from Him too. Proof could be there are books that almost made it in the Bible, but for some reason was decided to be left out. For instance, Protestant Bibles leave some books out. Catholic Bibles have more books than Protestant Bibles (seven) because of the way they define the Old Testament. Catholic Bibles include seven additional books known as the Deuterocanon or Apocrypha, which Protestants do not include in their Old Testament.

I definitely believe there are even more sacred writings that should have been added to the Catholic Bible that is not. This is why I read other faith-based writings and not just the Bible. Writings that are in sync with the Bible.

To believe there is only one book and only one way to God is very cultish. How we all even find our way to God is different! We all have different life stories, so that proves there ARE different ways to God.

I REALLY started finding my way to God via Yoga philosophy! I had accepted Christ in my life decades ago, before I began studying yoga philosophy, but it was more love by way of head knowledge, not heart felt, sincere love for God. It was until listening to a Yoga teacher online that I began to truly seek God in wanting a deep, genuine relationship with Him. This was in 2016. After that, I was truly a new creation, with old things passing away and new ways now in me. I really changed.

And Yoga philosophy was the catalyst for me eventually becoming a Roman Catholic Christian. I still embrace a lot of the Yoga philosophy teachings, because I realize there is not just one way to God. You will know them by their fruits. See the fruits within yourself. And see your relationship with God, and its growth. See if it goes with according to the Bible....This is how you know it's God's Word--and other sacred writings as well.
