I'm glad their website, Tribe of Heart, gives the correct definition of being vegetarian as many people--including me sometimes--tend to automatically think if a person says they don't eat any animal products at all, they must be vegan--not so!

Common confusion: Often mistakenly used to describe those who do not eat flesh but do consume other animal products such as diary and eggs. So remember, all those celebrities announcing to the world that they are "vegan" because of their change in eating are not vegan--they are vegetarians.

ReplyDeleteBy these definitions I am an ovo-lacto vegetarian. But I bet if I told people that they'd have no idea what I was talking about! It's easier to say "vegetarian", but I hate to use incorrect terms!
